Adults, the CDC says you should get vaccinated ASAP unless one of the following is true:
"written documentation of adequate vaccination, laboratory evidence of immunity, laboratory confirmation of measles, or birth before 1957."
April Sparkles @April_Sparkles
“The contagious nature of measles means that if an infected person walks into a store and another person who isn't vaccinated comes in two hours later, they can still catch it.” 💛

Wait, what? Are those of us born after 1957 not vaccinated? 😟

If you were born before 1957, it is assumed that you have had measles, and that your natural immunity is sufficient.

Most people born after 1957 have probably been vaccinated. There is some discussion of vaccination immunity waning, so repeat vaccination may soon be recommended.

Interesting. I definitely got the MMR vax as a child. Sounds like the booster is for people who aren't sure at this point. I'll be first in line if they recommend a booster for adults who were previously vaccinated. They can stick me as many times as they want. Vaccinations are a freakin' miracle!
