I think it’s a Trumpeter Swan. According to Cornell Lab of Ornithology…
And if you’re Fraser River, BC, that’s one of areas they winter over in the non-breeding season (now).

Anyone know anything about this lone swan on the Fraser River? My friends saw him a couple weeks ago near the Knight Street Bridge. This is a pic I took today near Duncan bar #FraserSwan #PNW :

That particular population breeds in Alaska.
Trumpeter Swans nearly went extinct due to hunting for their feathers. Plus they nest on top of muskrat and beaver dens. When those populations were decimated, so too were the Swans.
They’ve recovered to about 65,000 for the entire world.

Fantastic creature... but seems to be the only one and it's my first time in 8 years on the river seeing one.
