An outlet that has ignored much of everything we have done here has written about the security incident. When we release something groundbreaking, they ignore us, but when we have a security incident, it's newsworthy?

I left this reply on the wrong post earlier...oops. here it is: Don't give them a second thought. Anyone that says their site is iron clad is a liar. Your integrity is your finest asset.

I'm so disappointed in people.
It seems there are active, respected @spoutible users who have large platforms who have never promoted Spoutible on those platforms, but NOW are using their influence for performative pearl clutching over the data breach, actively harming Spoutible with their audiences

Yep, that's how mainstream media works: they farm shock & outrage.

In short, they suck.

That being said, I was affected by this incident & I truly appreciate how your team notified me via email so quickly. Thank you!

It’s called Racism, and kick backs from competitors.

Last hired, first fired in print.

If #TaylorSwift started Spoutible the press would act completely different.

I woldn’t call it a security incident when Have i been Pwned has confirmed that 207,114 users data has been stolen (mine included) Data you are responsible for protecting, email, ip address, names, passwords, phone numbers and usernames. Kinda disappointing.

Gosh I hope you're not on/use Twitter, FB, Apple, Bank of America, Equifax, Yahoo, Ameritrade, Capital One, Duolingo, Home Depot, Marriott and I'm tired of typing, read for yourself...

It's reasonable for people to be angry and upset that personal information was exposed.

It's also true that no social media site is immune to privacy breaches, and that bad actors will seize on this for their own ends.

How Spoutible compares to others- I'm honestly not informed enough to say.

As much as I'm disappointed in the breach happening, I do think it's kind of ridiculous with how people have been reacting to it, seeing as it's nothing that new for social networks, and it seems more like it's done as a means to ignite petty feuds and stuff, more than anything.

Techbros are talking about the encrypted passwords and 2FA information being released based on some guy's blog. Can you address that directly please? I'd rather hear it from you than take them at their word.

Just like it's super convenient on the day of the breach, several randoms show up to stir shit. It's all related. Bad crisis actors.

I spot a lot of people trying to make a big something out of this, jealousy and malicious intent. People here know you Christopher and I believe you handled this in one of the best ways I’ve ever seen a breach handled.
