Re ads on Spoutible: we need 'em to pay the bills; it's just the way the world works. Even nonprofits like NPR have near constant ads (i.e. "underwriters"). And anyone complaining about ads...do you watch YouTube? Use FB or any other SM site? Watch any streaming service that now almost all have ads?

Honestly, I think the people up in arms are just worried / have Twitter PTSD. Ads every 3 to 5 posts. Ads in your replies. Ads, ads, ads everywhere.

I don't think Spoutible will do that but I think people are jaded and just need time to see it won't get that bad.

That makes sense. I’m not on X anymore, but my FB feed is 75% ads or “suggested” posts.

I consistently mark every Facebook ad Hide -> Repetitive -> Hide all from. After about a year, of this, I see maybe one ad a month. (Repetitive does not release any analyzable data about you; the other options do)
