Great Pod with @cbouzy where I revealed to the world that I didn’t know we had group DM’s.
Excited to get in a few.
A few things I want to say as a #dayonespouter .
First: I respect this place for its transparency and ethics. I am not concerned.
Second: “Breaches” are always gonna happen.

I think we all have a personal responsibility on any platform to be a partner in security.
When Twitter started, nobody expected a bad player to buy it and use it for evil. Now he has 15 years of data, you know he reads the DMs of people and if he can hand it and hurt his enemies he will.

If you (or any platform) immediately lets you know of a breach I as a user can take my steps to protect myself while you do it for the platform. That means tough passwords, not me using the password “111111” like I currently do.
Crap.
Don’t hack me.

Also, @BLACKSTEMUSA had a great question ( @cbouzy and @Phil being tagged on that one) about users being able to purchase ads. I am trying to get a health care thing going and I feel like this is a safe place to get the word out.
And I”m willing to pay for that.
That possible?

Lastly: This place doesn’t need to be the biggest social media site on the internet to be the best. Quality over quantity. Heart over greed. Transpacy vs. Lawyering up.
It starts at the top and you are doing a great job.
Let me know when I can thread things and I’ll start using this more. :)

I know "breach" is not always the preferred word, but word has it that "breaching happens" and our whale watch is certainly better here than anywhere else. https://whalewatchwesterna...

I was right there with you in not knowing group DMs have been available for a while. Loved your human “oops” moment 😂😂

Steve - Nick, Jackie and Lori have been following the progress of Spoutible. I’ll reach out to them this week to see if they can set up some DemCast DM rooms here.

That would be great.
The amplification on other platforms from here is useful. It’s nice to have two less places to have to post. :)
