I saw a poll asking people for their favorite greens - collards, turnips, mustard, and cabbage.

I never considered cabbage a green until today. I mean, I guess it is. It's like the cauliflower of broccoli, I guess.

BTW, I'm a collards and cabbage girlie. Not together though.

The ancestors in me will not allow it. We are already eating greens with utensils which my great grandmother thought was absolutely wrong.

You gotta go back to old southern folks. My great grandmother was born in 1899. I remember as a child it was so strange that she ate with a fork except collards and cornbread.

My maternal family all said they remember eating collards with their hands until they all migrated to the north.
