Let's stop using "mentally ill" as a substitute for "bad person."

People with mental illness are not bad people by default.

And mental illness isn't the reason bad people are bad people.

You hurt real people when you do this.

They may have mental health issues, but those are clearly secondary to bad, violent, or out of control behavior.

Most of us have some mental health issues and neurosis, Anxiety, sleep problems, relational concerns, family problems, physiological symptoms, digestive issues, dependence on some medications, addictions to over exercising, power and control issues, an endless list. None of these cause difficulties
