"But Biden's age" is a dog whistle for "but that Black woman could be president." Biden and Trump are nearly the same age, and both are known for making gaffes, but journalists and pundits would have you believe Biden is considerably older than Trump and more at risk of not being able to do the job.

So why all the focus on Biden's age and not Trump? Because Biden has a Black female vice president, and the idea of VP Harris ascending to the highest office is a bridge too far for many in the media. They would rather have another Trump presidency than have VP Harris become POTUS.

They know the age argument is a hard sell with Trump in the race, so they have started to cast doubt on VP Harris. I have read op-eds and watched commentary on how VP Harris is unqualified or not ready for the job, and my response to that is, shut the fuck up. No, really, shut the fuck up.

VP Harris spent 10+ years in prosecutorial roles, 4 years as a Senator, and 3+ years as Vice President. But some of these unserious nincompoops would have you believe someone with VP Harris' experience is less qualified to be President than a real estate developer / reality TV personality.

Should anything happen to President Biden, VP Harris would be one of the most qualified people in U.S. history to ascend to the highest office. We have systems in place to ensure a smooth transition, and America will continue on. Eight U.S. presidents died while in office; we are not new to this.

So the next time someone tries to suggest Biden is too old and/or VP Harris isn't qualified, tell the unserious nincompoop to fuck off because they are more worried about a Black woman in the Oval Office than the fate of our country.

His campaign literally did.

Here's hoping that he does get elected, but it still doesn't mean democrats aren't bad at planning.

Did you even read your own linked article? Biden DID NOT PROMISE to not run for a second term. He said he would not make a judgment on it at the time.

Not true. Read the article.
- 4 people gave THEIR opinion. And
- “Kate Bedingfield, Biden’s deputy campaign manager and communications director, declined Politico’s request for comment but later tweeted “this is not a conversation our campaign is having and not something VP Biden is thinking about.”

I remember that speech. What he said was he intended to be a bridge president. If the situation had calmed down to a sense of a return to normalcy, he would have stepped aside. We’re in very perilous times. I have every faith in Joe and his administration. If something happens, I’m not worried.

Did you actually read the article? It’s wishful thinking by The Hill* according to “unnamed sources”. Actual source also quoted on the article do NOT say that.

Btw - this hot take is from Canada. I love Canada, but you don’t vote here, so 🤷🏼‍♀️

It was mentioned in publications from Rolling Stone, to Newsweek, etc. back in 2019. I just grabbed one from the time.

Yeah, Americans don't vote in Uganda either.
But they were behind the Kill The Gays bill.
🤷‍♀️

Americans don't vote in South America, but sent/funded death squads.

Not “literally” at all. This article says he didn’t say that. It’s quoting an unnamed advisor and it reads more like speculation than anything.

His campaign said no such thing either. This was wishful thinking.
