I didn't speak any Czech when I saw Cyrano de Bergerac at the National Theatre in Prague but I knew the text inside & out because of my own riff on it created for college-age women. It was thrilling to see an unexpected take - Cyrano more as hippie poet than brawler.

Cyrano is one of my favorite plays. (Jose Ferrer's film version always makes me cry at the end.) I would've loved to have seen your twist on it. Especially the nose scene!

I love it to pieces, too. I weep buckets throughout. My own play is metatheatrical - about college students rehearsing a cross-gender production, & ways that it challenges & changes them, so it bounces around between scenes & includes a song or 2. I didn’t include the Nose scene.
