The U.S. Attorney's Office in GA busted a crime ring where 100 migrant workers were unlawfully sold and traded and made more than $200 million as part of the scheme.

Members of the group were largely residents of GA, FL, and TX. Of course, those are the states they come from.

Onions haven't been 'dug with bare hands' since the 1950s. These guys aren't farmers, they're full-on slave traders/launderers. No more Georgia Vidalias for me.

This is why the GOP is trying to rewrite history on slavery and call it a jobs program

That comes to $2million per slave. San Francisco has a commission on reparations to compensate Blacks for their treatment in the US including slavery. $2 million for several years worth seems like a good financial starting point to calculate what the US owes Blacks in the US.

Chances are excellent that we're talking about those big beautiful sweet Vidalia Onions from east central Georgia. There are homes in communities there that are majestic. Homes that onions built... Texas Sweets are just as good. Sweets from Chile are just as good. It's the Onion. Not Vidalia...

It is. It's sad that in a country with access to knowledge like we have can still be so ridiculous and inhuman.

These are all states led by anti-immigrant legislatures & governors.

We need fair immigration policies so people can work safely & legally here.

Just as illegal cannabis made pot a gateway to hard drugs that shouldn't be accessible, making it hard to find legal workers puts slavery 1 step clos

We still live in a world where employers exist within inches of their optimal labor market (pay people nothing for long, hard work) as opposed to the optimal job market (get paid millions for doing nothing).
