This is 100% truth. Social Security (SSI/SSD) Medicare, and Medicaid is taken out of most people's paychecks every pay period. Yet after $110,000 people don't have to pay that, and that ain't right.

Social Security is not an entitlement! The govt isn’t giving us shot. We pay into this. It never should’ve been taxed (Reagan did that). You stop them when they say “entitlement” and add, “my ass”!

Thankfully, it hasn't been 110k since 2012.
It's 168,600 this year.

It's adjusted for inflation, so it is $168,600 for 2024. So, the most someone will pay is $12,897.90 in FICA taxes, whether they make $168,600 or $10 million.

"Yet after $110,000 people don't have to pay that, and that ain't right. "

does this means after we pay this amount into ss, we no longer pay? or that people making this amount do not pay into ss? i'm truly curious. it's not you, it's the way i am trying to process this info. #disability

Employees and employers each pay 6.2% of earnings up to $168,000. So you pay Social Security on however much you earn. But once you have earned $168,000 you don’t pay a penny more to Soc Sec. So it’s a bigger burden on people who earn less. Let me know if this isn’t clear
