I had to do this every time I got on a bike, without a helmet.
If I had it all to do over again, I'd do it all over again.
If it had wheels I believed it could fly.

I had a similar ethos as a kid.

I've got knee surgery scheduled in a couple months to repair a tear I got as a kid that never healed and is finally giving me too much trouble.

Totally worth it.

I hope they can get you patched up. I screwed up my knee and ankle too, I don't need surgery yet. The one thing I'll never forget is the road rash and picking out gravel. Hitting the ground so hard I just lie there with a mouth full of dirt rethinking my choices.

Helmets and pads weren't really a thing for us, I guess. I used to ride around backwards sitting on the handlebars. I couldn't imagine the number of tickets we would get as kids now.
