This is what people don't get ahead of time. A family I know is trying to set up insurance to cover home nursing care for a disabled stroke patient. I don't have the heart to say securing funding is the easy part. They're talking lightly about just hiring 24/7 care. They have no idea.

Very very true. I worked for months to get funding for my MIL, only to find there were ZERO eligible caregivers in my area.

In larger urban areas there are agencies but the care is expensive and the agencies take a percentage of the caregivers money 🤬

We're so grateful we have wonderful aides who truly care for our elderly relatives (with dementia). Especially since none of us live in the same city; knowing they are very well taken care of is a huge relief.
