There aren’t enough if any Orientation and Mobility Therapists in the country!
That means there is no one to instruct visually impaired children and adults.
So I am going to post links for people to explore this profession.

Imagine being in a preschool or play group or classroom with teachers who are not trained to adjust lessons to best work with vision impaired children…very quickly people would make assumptions about your abilities.

If anyone has interest or children who might be interested this is a great field

Yep
I live in ny and it a shortage here too but it is also about districts/counties not wanting to spend the money.
There are dozens of schools for the deaf. Student enrollment is decreased since implants. There is no reason they cannot open their buildings for classes for blind children

I’m in 100% agreement. A lot of school districts would rather spend their money on administrative salaries and building sport facilities than ensuring that students with disabilities have appropriate educational services.
