i would un-invent eating.

i think this would fundamentally restructure power relationships within and among species, and generally effect a more aesthetically harmonious biosphere.

great question.
life is an energy calculus.
harvesting the energetic syntheses of other life = biological leverage.
but even photosynthetic organisms absorb chemical nutrients.
it’s not clear how to draw a bright line precluding those inputs from being other creatures.
just … no more gnashing teeth?

lol yeah we’re singularly good at that as a species.

but if we “un-invent” by removing the original invention from the timeline, it would radically rewrite millions of years of evolution. humans, if they meaningfully came to exist at all, would almost certainly look & behave VERY different.
