Why are we pretending so hard? WaPo says that Russia's killing of a defector "raised fears" of targeted killings.

It didn't 'raise fears.'' It was plain murder. I thought shooting him 6 times and running over the body with their car was unequivocal.

Putin routinely murders his opponents, in-country and out. Remember Aleksei Navalny, Yevgeny Prigozhin, Sergei Skripal, Anna Politkovskaya, Aleksandr Litvinenko, Natalya Estemirova, or Sergei Magnitsky?

It's easy to see, but WaPo still won't say it out loud.

The blurb under the headline could be easily fixed by just changing the final clause to:

"... has demonstrated that the Kremlin is still targeting Putin's enemies"
