It helps if you put it down on "paper" (virtual or otherwise.)

But also...don't be frustrated when what seemed to flow and make sense in your head is difficult to express concretely...somehow it's a long way from your brain to your fingers!

I get this. My “writing in my head” invariably happens while I’m driving. By the time I get home… poof! It’s either gone completely, or it just doesn’t flow the same when I write or type it. Soooo frustrating.
