Spriends I was talking art museums with Linda this morning and was wondering , what’s your favorite painting or exhibit that you’ve seen in person??? 🖼️
Linda Eisenstein @LindaEisenstein
Stopped at the Museum to see Monet in Focus: 3 paintings on loan from the Musée Marmottan + 2 from Cleveland's collection, including a crown jewel: the huge Water Lilies that usually dominates the Impressionist room. I'll never forget seeing the whole triptych together here. More in ALT-TEXT

My first jaw dropping art experience—Michelangelo’s Pieta at the NY World’s Fair. My last—Diego Rivera’s murals at the Detroit Institute of Arts.

The Rivera murals at DIA are indeed incredible. When I went to Windsor to gamble & play poker before our casinos opened, Bob & I would sometimes cross the river to see them.

I finally saw them last week after waiting many years. Spent over an hour in that room and talked with several docents. A rare case of anticipation being less than the actual experience. They are so beautiful and expressive. And LARGE!
