4.8 may be nothing to us Californians, but it is devastating to those on the East Coast. The geology is different, the density and construction of buildings is different, and the infrastructure is different.

They are not designed, nor prepared, for this. They deserve our empathy and compassion.

So true. And I must admit that I’m very grateful to be in CA and not working on the 63rd floor of the Empire State Building like I used to.

All I can say is that the building would sway in the wind on very windy days, so an earthquake? Shudder.
