I agree and paywalls are the main reason those who opt not to pay or can't pay fall victim to all the misinformation from blogs and news websites with no credibility. News should be free and advertising should pay for it

He's right: some news needs to be available to everyone.

The rest should at least be accessible on a per-article basis. There are pubs I'd buy articles from if I didn't have to buy a full subscription.

They'd make a ton on $1 article. It's 2024, get frictionless already.
