This is depressing & alarming…

One commentator states H5N1 pandemic would be 100 x worse than COVID-19

H5N1 is mutating, cross species (birds, cows, cats) AND humans.

I’ve been watching & reading research. tThe WHO has been tracking this since 2003 & estimates H5N1 has a 50% fatality rate.

I decided to fact check this and found this reference on Wikipedia, which has a citation of the WHO mortality estimates which confirm 50% mortality rate.

Obviously the potential for another significant pandemic event is alarming.

We need to start planning and be prepared (masks etc) just in case this continues to spread.

In response to Greg Dickson.
I fear the 'free-dumbers' and conspiracy loons will make it nearly impossible to control the impact if it goes pandemic level into people.

I read that yesterday. I did not fact check that article, there is a huge difference in conclusions.

All I can say is my wife had H1N1 in 2008, she was very sick. Said she felt like she was dying. She ended up with a kidney injury that took until the last year for her kidney function to normalize
