IMPORTANT THREAD FOR DISCORD USERS

This thread will contain links to help you. Discord's latest update (April 15th) includes a forced #arbitration clause. Long story short, you do not want this. If you are a #Discord user, take the time to opt out NOW

You have 30 days from the date of this notice (until May 15th) or 30 days after the creation of your account if you make a new one in order to opt-out. If you do not opt-out, then in the event you need to sue #Discord , you cannot do that. Do not forfeit this right.

Here's what to do:

1. Start up an e-mail to the following account: arbitration-opt-out @discord .com

2. State your #Discord username and your e-mail attached to that account in the e-mail. (Also send it from that e-mail)

3. State that you are opting out of the arbitration clause and mention the effective date (April 15th, 2024).

4. Send the e-mail and then save that e-mail somewhere. Do not trust #Discord to save it for you should you have an issue and they claim you never sent the e-mail.

Will you ever have a reason to sue #Discord ? Probably not. However, you should always have the right to go to a third party to handle legal disputes. Never give that right up. Arbitration forces you to only handle disputes with Discord directly.

And if Discord decides that #Discord did nothing wrong, you're SOL. You can't sue and you can't join a class action lawsuit. It's scummy behavior. Always opt out of any arbitration clause you can.
