Ok, 2 things:
1) Decision fatigue is a real thing, so be gentle with yourself.
2) Try to take note of the things you're asking yourself about- the whole "why did I buy this" thing- and it should guide you away from future similar purchases. You didn't fail, you just learned.

Never buy a patterned anything other than stripes. That’s what I’ve learned.

You have to be in the right mood for it, I've found. When I'm in "the zone," it's lots easier. I'm ruthless then. I sometimes later regret giving up an item or two, but the overall relief, and the freed-up closet space, are totally worth it.

That’s definitely true. I’ve reached peak laundry overload and I’m tired of it.

Are you trying them on first? That's the worst.

That is the worst, and luckily not too much of that going on today. This is mostly stuff that I don’t wear, don’t actually like, doesn’t fit in my lifestyle. Just shaking my head and asking why I ever owned this stuff to begin with.
