I am not one to notice what is in folks' shopping carts, but the guy in front of us at Aldi today had 10 cases of strawberries (that would be 80 clamshells). And one head of lettuce.

He either owns a restaurant or bakery with a very specific menu of the day, or he's making a crapton of jam.

Depending on the price, we will buy a bunch and dehydrate them!!! Yummy snack or to add to recipes. Will put them in the freezer, after dehydration, to last the year.

Works great! Just make sure they are completely cooled before putting in glass or plastic containers!

Ooh, that's a good idea.

They were fairly cheap (I mean, Aldi) but not in-season levels of cheap yet.

We'll have 8 trays going, when the price is right, for a few days. Not too much trouble and well worth it. They also rehydrate well for making strawberry syrup for pancakes or cheesecake.
