We have a bunch of reusable produce bags and go for metal or glass packing when possible, but plastic is HARD to avoid, especially with toiletries

In response to Salma Typhii.
We've made a huge effort to limit buying items in plastic and eliminate (almost!) using plastic bags in the last 4 years. Mesh bags for groceries and produce, buying refillable soap products (not in plastic), laundry dishwasher pods shipped in cardboard boxes, products wrapped in paper, not plastic.

We estimate that we have only eliminated ~100-130 bottles of plastic/year. Some products are more expensive, some the same. We're happy that we are buying and using less plastic, but it seems like such a huge effort for a small gain.
