Serious question: How do you discern. a spout is worth liking and echoing but not enough to follow back? 🐳

For my POV here on the couch, it costs nothing to like, even respout, a spout. You don't have to follow the account that did the initial spout or even one which comments and respouts. It's okay to lurk for a bit to figure out which people post the kinds of things you like.

Some folks, having been burnt in the past by troll/scam accounts, wait until an account has a certain number of spouts before following new-to-them accounts, and many don't even know what their own stats are (number of posts, followers, etc.) since there's no big influencer/branding culture here.
