Let's face it: I have spent years struggling with depression. My spouse was in the front seat for all of that and had her own struggle, too. I'm not sure I was an equal partner that way. Well, honestly, I was not an equal partner. Of course, she has a right to pursue her own happiness!

I'm sorry that the weight has been so badly shifted all this time. Looking back, it's hard not to feel like a hyper-privileged white male with problems and an ego. I would have used primadonna, but that is misogynistic. It's not difficult to see why this has gone the way it has.

I know she doesn't hate me, even if she can't love me like that, anymore. I would have wanted to fix this 20 years ago. At 48, if I'd gotten help.... well, that's past. Not re-doable, unfortunately, here I am. I'll always love her. I'll always wish I would have done better by her.

I feel for you. My depression was definitely a contributing factor in my divorce. In total I saw 7 therapists over the decades. Just recently I was prescribed Celexa. What a world of difference, but mostly too late. Hang in there.

Yeah, just got medication for ADHD and it's a game-changer. Too late for this game. She's done. So now, I get to be clearheaded for the series of humiliations I'm about to enjoy.
