#DailyPictureTheme #Earth

I planted this Japanese flowering dogwood tree in the #earth in 2016. It replaced a similar tree on the other side of the lawn from 1976 that was destroyed during hurricane Sandy in 2012.
This picture is from June 2021 when all the flowers are in bloom for a month.

That's gorgeous! A neighbor has a Japanese maple that hopefully this year I'll be able to get a couple saplings from. There's a spot where I lost a sugar maple a while back that should make an ideal location for transplant.

Thank you!
That sounds perfect. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you. I love watching trees grow each year from saplings. 😊

I agree! I planted a 10 foot northern oak tree where the original dogwood tree was at the same time in 2016.
It’s grown quite a bit in 8 years.
