Now you have me wondering if stoop is a regional word. I’ve heard it in some places in WI, but not a common term in my little hometown. There were Dutch settlers in nearby places such as Little Chute, Green Bay and Oostburg. 😊

That's what my mom called our cement step(s) up to the fron door. She grew up in NE PA.

Yes, it comes from the Dutch word stoep. 😊
