I don't really have one favorite, but "South of the Border, West of the Sun" by Haruki Murakami stands out.

The closest I have to a favorite book is The Lord of the Rings. It is the only book I have read more than half a dozen times. I read most books one time no matter how much I like them because there are so many more books to read.

There is joy and comfort in rereading favorites because you're not the same person who first read it.

I can never pick my favorite. It changes over time, mood, or need. I've read some amazing books recently, and some mediocre ones. I just finished Other Birds by Sarah Addison Allen, which touched me with some psychological intrigue, growing friendships. and a touch of magic.

It changes as I reflect over time, honestly. I almost never reread because my too read list is so long. “Sexing The Cherry” Jeanette Winterson had a big influence on me at the time. Same with “ The Unbearable Lightness of Being “ Milan Kundera.
