Men KNOW men are dangerous. THEY KNOW.

They know what they, themselves would do if they also know they'd get away with it.

They gaslight us.

The anger is because the gaslighting doesn't work anymore.

Because what they demand is a constant mind reading, a constant knowing of intentions.

"We should be more careful."

"Choose men better."

As though violent men, cruel men, dangerous men wear a sign or introduce themselves that way.

But we're supposed to "know."

But these are men who tell the women they will brutalize they love them. How are women supposed to know when it's a lie and when it is not?

These are men who will pretend to enjoy your company until you are clear that company does not include sex. How are we supposed to divine that?

Because men are quick to say not all men, but also quick to say we should "know."

So which is it?

And why is our safety less important than their feeling awkward or bad because we can't see the future?

Bottom line is this: if you don't want women to fear ALL MEN WE DON'T KNOW...

Put the work in to make men less scary, less dangerous, less unhinged.

Police other men, men.

POLICE OTHER MEN.

I think homophobia stems from the fear of being subject to the same violence from men as women, in a large part.

But addressing gender-based harm and "norms" absolutely helps everyone.

Excellent point. This insidious circle of violence.
