I think I spread my melancholy out pretty evenly during the year but I do feel a certain amount of dread leading up to my birthday.

Does anyone else start feeling melancholy in the days leading up to your birthday? I don't know why that is...it's not about age (although when I think about where age ultimately leads I feel bad in a different way...)

I used to feel that way when I was in my 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. It started to wane once I hit my 60’s. Since I turned 70, I haven’t felt that at all, not since I realized that every day now, is truly a blessing. After all, what’s the alternative? Be safe and reach for happiness.
In response to Lola.
