Today's old people tip. Always pregame with Tylenol and ibuprofen an hour before starting any yardwork. Really, physical activity of any sort. It makes a huge difference.

For me it is 8 hour arthritis strength Tylenol & topical pain relief cream with ketoprofen, gabapentin, & lidocaine.

It works amazingly well. If I don't, my back and knees start to hurt within about 15 minutes. I can go two or three hours with the combo. Also, take another round 6 hours later as it helps get through the evening.
