Sincerely not trying to be obtuse or anything, and I'm not complaining.

Do we have an explanation for why this is displayed (as opposed to not seeing the message at all)? I must have missed it if we ever got one.
TIA

It could be used as a subtle way to phish for followers. If you are curious about what they posted, you will follow them to read their spout. I have observed that if I follow them most do not follow back. 😉😁

It almost seems like the site is fishing on their behalf 😂. I think most are wanting a "smaller" experience.

Oh, I 100% get why a user might want to use the feature. It's a good option for users.
I'm just wondering why the use of it gets repeatedly announced to non-followers.

It is annoying but wasn't the *other* app like that? If so maybe that's a default setting?

It could very well be a tech-related thing.

This is one of my very few peeves with Spoutible. Definitely not a game-changer nor a priority. But a setting to turn this OFF would be a welcome quality-of-life feature.

Believe it's when someone you follow echoes/quotes their spout.

Makes sense, thanks.

It would then function as a "hey, someone you follow follows this account, maybe you'd like to, too."

You may have solved the mystery!

IMO that´s an account that uses the "private" setting

Yes.
I'm curious why we see the message. Not sure that people who go private want that "advertised," so to speak. ??
