Hope u don’t mind my butting in here, I just took a class on fabric journals/books at my quilt guild’s retreat. It was in the vein of ‘Slow Stitch’ taught by Pati Fried. It can be a hand stitch sampler/doodle pad but you could do other things too, like a fun kids book out of scrap blocks/tidbits.

Thanks! Pati is a kind & generous teacher. She shared her favorite notions, letting us cut samples of any of her many different threads we wanted to try, and we each got a self-threading needle by Bohin, which is handy if you want to change colors frequently.
