There's a particular kind of paint I wanted to try where there's no cool red in stock anywhere and I'm thinking "how hard can it be to buy some dry pigment and medium and make the damn stuff myself?" and I guess I'm going to find out. I do have a muller and glass board and empty paint tubes already.

Have some different pigments on the way so we will see if any of them work. Gotta watch out buying dry pigments though, some people will happily sell you all kinds of shit with like actual ground up cinnabar (even I don't mess with mercury compounds).

I am crossing my fingers for you. I tried to make a slate green and failed miserably. I crossed that skill off my bucket list. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

So many people sell handmade watercolors on Etsy, it seems like making paint should be doable. As long as I'm willing to waste a bit of material getting the hang of it.
