It’s long past time for the Department of Defense to pull the plug on Fox News. Extremist and often pro-Russia propaganda should NOT be piped into U.S. military bases at taxpayers’ expense.

One would think that The Commander In Chief would have first dibs on the channel clicker. 🤔

We’ve been saying this for no less than SEVEN YEARS 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m guessing we need to accept that they either don’t care or support the rhetoric 🙄

if MSNBC was being broadcast on military bases, heads would explode on the right about "woke indoctrination."
the fact that people consider Fox "news" in this country is a big part of the problem

It is. In the mess halls you have Fox on some, CNN on others, and MSNBC on some as well. Also the occasional one will be turned to sportscenter or the weather.

Most people in the military spend like 15 minutes in the mess halls, they're not indulging in hours of daytime punditry.

I do agree. Our local YMCA also has this damn station on. We keep trying to change it. Will not renew next year.

Part of the issue is that AFN is

a) expensive to operate
b) not a lot of recruits chomping at the bit for journalism jobs

So the alternatives are mass network news.

And Fox is on basic cable, so it's cheaper.
