2. They didn't ask 'why'.

Excellent article! Some folks believing that TFG being indicted, going to prison or losing all his money will turn the tide against fascism do not fully grasp the phenomenon of Trumpism. It is cultural tribalism rooted in some of the worst instincts of human nature.

Yep. It was inevitable that the GOP's white grievance game since Nixon's Southern Strategy would lead to Trump. It's disturbing and funny (not in a ha-ha way) to see Never-Trumper Republicans act shocked, SHOCKED! at how Trump won power in their party. They paved the road for him.
