When girls in Florida aren't allowed to talk about their period anymore, it's about shaming.
Because shaming is part of the dehumanizing process, and dehumanizing is part of the control process, and control is part of the fascism process.

It won't. It's something much darker.

True. Unfortunately women have been shamed about their bodies their whole life. Most of us it started in middle school and sometimes younger. There has always been a war on women. This is just their new line of attack

They won't stop there, Heather. As you said, it's a war on women.

Ha. They never think things through, it's all about optics. Intimidation over logic.

I agree.

The last thing that young girls need as they enter puberty is body shaming.

I feel like we could play the “tell me you’re afraid of X without telling me you’re afraid of X” game with every GOP-lead state right now.

Considering how they want to monitor girl’s cycles, this seems to thwart that. Can’t tell you about my cycle if I can’t talk about my cycle.

I’ve said this before but worth repeating: silence around sex and sexual health makes enables abusers.

It enables abusers, yes, and it also increases teen/child pregancy astronomically. (That's what they want to - lots of abused women making babies they can't afford so that they'll be unable get a degree & have a successful career that "should have gone" to a mediocre white male)

I agree. Sex education should be freely taught at school. And parents must talk freely with their kids. It is better kids learn from their parents rather than on the street. That’s my opinion and not everybody's.
