Since you asked my friend- I spoke to one of my closest friends for the past 40 years, and one of the smartest 2 people I have ever known, who, along with several other old friends, attended William and Mary with Jon Stewart, who dropped his last name after school, were good friends with him.....

and one of them lived with Jon for at least a year. I told my buddy that I would seriously consider getting behind Jon, in '28. I asked if I ought to and if Jon was as smart as my buddy and the 4-5 of his college buds I have known and who all hung with Jon. My buddy is a big burly guy even now......

No, absolutely not. We need QUALIFIED people in the actual field of government with experience, not passionate talkers. Two words: Reagan, Trump. Why would anyone entertain such a notion?

I agree with you. We've had enough entertainers in the White House.

“Famous Guy Decides He Can Be President” isn’t typically successful.

Yes he would. He is a smart, caring man who understands the world needs all of us to look after each other. Wish he would consider running 😉

He would be excellent. But I don't think it will happen.

I would like to add an addendum. So yes, but looking at how effective both LBJ and JRB were/are, I think it's due to their years of political experience and connections with other politicians. I'm not sure how seriously other politicians would take Stewart....

This. He is great but it is actually very important and very good to have a leader with experience actually working in politics and being a leader.
We don't need any more celebrities no matter how good they may be.
Maybe just run for Congress or Senate against an incumbent Republican.

Many Congresspersons have actually spoken to him at some point, whether as a guest on one of his shows or in regards to the burn pit legislation. Most respect him.

It took him a little while after his election, but Al Franken became well-respected on both sides… b4 his unfortunate fall from grace

I want to say yes, but a celebrity does not a politician make, haven't we learned this from Republican history?
