Aside from some knockout performances and inventive cinematography, #KnockAtTheCabin relies far too heavily on coincidence and logic gaps to weave its tale of psychological torture and moral dilemma.

My ★★½ review of Knock at the Cabin on #Letterboxd

So is this just a trolly problem that someone inexplicably agonizes over for two hours? Because that's what the previews make it look like, and that premise is absurd. I won't be watching either way, but streaming ads are saturated with this movie right now, so I'm forced to think about it too much.

The story is a bit more layered than that. The fact that it's a same-sex couple is actually core and adds an important psychological dimension in the captive/captor dynamic. Agonizing over the dilemma doesn't come until quite late and is the weakest part of the film.
