What happens when insurrections members of congress get indicted? Will they resign? Is there a house or senate rule for felons in congress?

Nope. They can be in prison and still stay in Congress, even get reelected.

Felony conviction is not a bar to running for office.

Obama almost lost the 2012 WV primary to a convicted felon serving time in Texas.

Dude got like 40% of the vote.

A felon can run for congress but can not vote. Does that make sense? Btw thanks for your informative reply.

As I understand it, it goes back to how colonials were stripped of their rights under British rule so that the only elected leadership were Tories.

We wrote our laws to sidestep those British rules, sometimes to our detriment.
