Our collective response to Covid is perhaps the clearest embodiment yet of the principle of "I've got mine, fuck everyone else." And the ruin to which it inevitably leads.

Although as time goes on, I expect climate change, and our response to it, to make that point even more clearly.

Another thing that is clear is that if people can't adapt to a simple measure like wearing a mask to stop something like COVID... They definitely aren't going to be able to adapt to the changes required to survive a global climate crisis😬

Well said. The “change” of the pandemic forced them to see their own mortality.

Some people just can’t look into the future and the day they cease to exist.

So they avoid, deny and wave off anything that reminds them of their mortality.
