Igbo Landing—is a historic site at Dunbar Creek on St. Simons Island, Glynn County, Georgia. It was the setting of a mass suicide in 1803 by captive Igbo people who had taken control of their slave ship and refused to submit to slavery in the United States. ✊🏾👇🏾

In response to Tinka Nichols.
History by white folks will have you believe the majority of enslaved people just accepted their fate & not fight back. In reality there were numerous mass suicides & hundreds of uprising by enslaved people. We never gave up! Fight for our freedom was a continuous fact of life. We’re still fighting.
