Trying, and largely failing, to recruit healthcare provider personnel is a full-on industry now. Workers, professionals, are gaming the system. Normal full-time permanent employees are disappearing and becoming per diems & pseudo-travelers (commuters) at huge pay premiums to permanent employees.

This 'progress' theoretically will give tens of thousands more poor people access to healthcare they could not previously afford. Most healthcare systems are backed up due to lack of staff, of all kinds. How will we generate more Docs, PAs, CRNAs, nurses of all kinds...?

The question should be why aren't the HC workers getting comparable pay to per diem? They might be willing to stay. Its frustrating to work with someone paid much more, is not staying, who needs training on simple stuff, like where supplies are kept
