When people have a rough day, their answers are short and curt by default. Why is it so hard not to take that personally, like it's your fault? I'm the same way, so you'd think my brain would remind me to cut them slack instead of saying, "Don't be snippy w/ me; I didn't do it."

It all depends on the exact level of contentiousness involved bc there's a huge difference from someone having had a bad day & being a little off-putting and someone who has is just taking their anger issues out on you bc they feel that it's okay to.. I have learned this distinction the hard way..

It's true. Some lash out for reasons other than just being short on patience at that moment. Even then, I'd like my default to be more gracious because replying in kind fuels the fire needlessly.

*sigh

People! Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em.
