More and more job postings contain salary information and pay ranges, according to a series of studies.

This comes as more states and cities require employers to put pay in their job ads.

I still recall how offended recruiters used to act when I'd ask for a salary estimate or range. I once heard, "Is that really a priority this early on?" Yes. It is. If you fit into my financial plans, you have 100% of my hard work and commitment.

Times really have changed. Years ago I was asked, after a third interview, to put in a half days worth of work for a job tryout.

I asked for a salary range to make sure it was in the ballpark.

I got an email at midnight telling me i wasn't fit for the job.

I just cannot wrap my head around it. If I were a recruiter, I would never waste the time. Back to square one anytime we finally get through 3 rounds of interviews and I lowball a candidate and get told to get lost. Companies hope people will just settle, and those days are over.
