Tried to thread about managing media expectations with the looming Trump indictments, but multi-spout threads are still a bit problematic. Here's the whole thing as a graphic.

Reminder: If/When Trump finally starts to be held to account, the corrupted media will swiftly insist a number of conflicting things. He's unlikely to be convicted; the case is weak; the charges aren't big enough; the charges are too small; they should have waited, they waited too long. 1/5
It's all intended to keep you fearful so that you'll keep buying the products they're selling,
and, ultimately, embrace fascism, which the people who own the media reckon will be better for them. They're wrong, but it's never stopped them before. 2/5
At the same time, the horse-shoe left will spring into action, er, paralysis, and say that nothing can be done and the system is hopelessly corrupt. Only a revolution (that is beyond unlikely) can solve this intractable problem by destroying the system. But be careful what you wish for. 3/5
