Banning books and now libraries under the guise of protecting children is wrong and an obvious lie. Parents have always been able to protect their children from books they don’t want them to read.

This is despicable! That is why we have so many illiterate and uninformed citizens. I hope the governor has the balls to veto this bill. The libraries offer a lot more than books. People go there to use computers for job searching and other information. Shameful.

The computers in public libraries are also used to apply for jobs since the majority, if not all, job applications are done online so for those that can't afford their own computer, or need help using a computer from a librarian, they're out of luck. Their employment opportunities will be restricted

Notice how they are wiping out *public* library funding because of *school* library content. Not the same function! Do not vote for candidates who think library collections = their personal book collection.

I didn't make sense to me either. There's a lawsuit over the school libraries, so they cut the funding for public libraries. And why do the children need protecting? Are there any reports of children being hurt by books? 🙄

This is so disgusting. I don’t know what I would have done as a kid and young adult without the library. My kids had story time there. I took out bestselling books I couldn’t afford to buy (on a waiting list). Libraries are VITAL to communities all over this Country! This is absolutely horrible! 🤬

Around here they also have entertainment passes to borrow, 3D printers to use, maker spaces, computers - and books. I wonder how many of these reps have ever been in a public library?

The only way to keep people voting Republican is to make sure they are uneducated.

Rich people and kids in good schools will still have access to books. This is aimed squarely at the poor to make sure they STAY poor.

Ban books, defund libraries, all in the panicked effort to keep knowledge from people.

Knowledge is power. The fascists who would deny our access to knowledge understand this well.

This is just the 1st step. The 2nd is state controlled info.

Control the narrative, control the people.

Not only is this a hit on learning for city dwellers. We in the boondocks don't have internet without ridiculous prices, perhaps only a phone to do homework and research on. Now what? We have to pay the library and drive 20 miles after school? 😠

All they are actually showing is how bad it really is in their state! 😲
