The wildest thing about Bay Area Earthquakes is that what kind of ground you are standing/sitting on top of when it happens changes your perception of how big it was. If you live on bedrock you might barely notice, if you are on backfill it feels like jello wiggling.

It's so wild! I live on bedrocka nd barely notice anything below a 5.0, but was on backfill one time for a 4.5 and it was way scarier.

We had two (what you would call mild) earthquakes here in metro dc and they scared the daylights out of me.
